Couples Counseling

Every relationship is a journey. While those journeys are filled with amazing highs of love and excitement, every relationship experiences lows in which unhealthy patterns, communication struggles, and hurtful actions can seem to overtake the journey. Sometimes, the journey is just "fine", but could use some new adventures or direction. No relationship journey goes unchallenged!

We are here to support you in navigating the challenges that show up in your journey. Our approach to couples therapy is focused primarily on the health of your relationship. we view your relationship as my "client", which means that our work in therapy will not be focused on "fixing" one partner or siding with another. Instead, our work will be focused on determining what each partner brings to the journey, what patterns and routes the journey has learned to take, and how the journey has developed an identity of its own based on its partners individual needs. We will collaborate with you and your partner(s) to identify your relationship concerns and come up with a road map to support you all in addressing those concerns.

We use a strengths-based, culturally responsive, collaborative approach to couples therapy, which will include interventions that are specific to you and your partner(s) needs and identities. Because each relationship journey is unique, there is no one size fits all treatment model. Whether you need support in learning to communicate better, need to heal from a breach of trust in your relationship, are having sexual challenges, or just want to talk through something with your partner(s), we are here to support you in your journey.
